The ASTORIA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA performs traditional classical repertoire, new music, operas, chamber music and concerts for children. The instrumentalists of the ASO are emerging professional musicians who live in New York City and the greater Tri-State area. The ASO has performed hundreds of standards from the orchestral and choral repertory such as the Mozart Requiem, Beethoven Symphonies, Brahms Symphonies, Dvorak Symphonies, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Violin Concerti by Berg, Mozart, and Schnittke, and Copland's Appalachian Spring (with the Martha Graham Company dancing). Regularly commissioning new works, the ASO champions modern American music, having performed over a dozen world premieres since its founding in 2002.
